Plain car glass stops almost none of the infrared that actually heats your cabin. sunblock film reflects it at the glass, so the car cools faster, the AC works less and the dashboard stops cooking.
Factory glass blocks some UV and almost no infrared. That is why the steering wheel is too hot to hold after an hour in a car park, and why the plastics on the dashboard go pale and brittle after a few summers.
India sets a minimum for how much light must still pass through your glass, measured with the film on it. It is called VLT — visible light transmission. Every myTVS sunblock film is made to sit on the right side of that line.

Rule 100 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules sets these minimums, and the 2021 amendment allows films so long as the glass still meets them. The figure is for the glass with the film on it, not the film on its own. Enforcement varies by state — your installer will confirm the right film for each piece of glass on your car before cutting anything.
Every grade is a 2-ply construction, 50.8 micron (0.00508 cm) thick.
